Events in Tucson is a community-curated calendar of family-friendly festivals, classes, and desert adventures — refreshed every week. The site needed to make finding something to do this weekend feel effortless, not like digging through Facebook groups and scattered flyers.
The challenge
Tucson families were piecing together weekend plans from a dozen different sources — library pages, museum sites, Facebook events, school newsletters. There was no single, filterable, trustworthy place that covered the whole city and every age group, from toddlers to teens.
The approach
Built a warm, illustration-led homepage that opens with the question every parent asks — 'what should we do this weekend?' — then answers it with a clean, filterable event grid. Category and age-range filters sit front and center, events are community-submitted, and the whole thing carries a playful desert personality that feels local, not corporate.
The outcome
A single destination that Tucson families can trust to be fresh, complete, and easy to scan — from Oro Valley to Vail, babies to teens, storytime to stargazing.
